Ershad urges students to go back to classroom

Jatiya Party Chairman HM Ershad today called upon the protesting students to go back to the classroom leaving the streets.

“I think whatever the students have done for safe roads so far is enough. If they still stay at the streets, it will not be beneficial for anybody,” he said in a statement here today.

Ershad also urged all to remain alert so that no vested quarter can take political advantage capitalizing on the student movement.

The Jatiya Party chairman also said the students have his complete support for their movement demanding safe roads. He also thanked Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina as she immediately gave assurances of accepting the students’ demands.

He said the new generation will be able to help run the country properly in the coming days. “But their staying at the streets even after the assurances of accepting their demands will not be good. The students have given many lessons. Now it is time to do our respective jobs,” he added.

Ershad said if the movement is used as a political weapon, the essence of the movement will be decayed. He urged the students not to pay any heed to rumors or instigation.

The Jatiya Party chairman also urged the transport workers and owners to resume plying of vehicles in the streets.
