Dhaka bourse sees gain at opening

The Dhaka Stock Exchange opened positively on Sunday as all the indices rose marginally within one hour of the session.

The major sectors, including banks, were in a positive mood while gainers took control over losers.

DSEX - the broad index of the DSE - advanced 0.23 per cent or 12.88 points to close at 5447.89 points after one hour of the session.

The Shariah based index DSES rose 0.30 per cent or 3.83 points to close at 1269.58 points, while the blue chip index advanced 0.28 per cent or 5.43 points to close at 1931.20 points also at the same time.

Of total issues are being treaded, 143 advanced, 83 declined, and 53 were unchanged at the time of reporting.

The turnover on the DSE stood at above Tk 1.74 billion after one hour of the session.

Summit Power was on top of turnover chart with a value of Tk 375 million followed by Khulna Power Company, Silva Pharmaceuticals, VFS Tread Dyeing, Nurani Dyeing & Sweater.
