Shahjahan asks Biman to explore new destinations

Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister AKM Shahjahan Kamal on Tuesday directed the officials of Biman Bangladesh Airlines Ltd to explore new destinations considering current global high trend of air travelers.

"If we can successfully make new destinations for Biman, the national flag carrier will be able to make more contribution to the national economy," he said while exchanging views with the Biman's high officials at Balaka, the airlines headquarters in the capital.

Mentioning that Bangladesh is advancing fast towards its desire development goal under the leadership of the present government, the minister said, "We have to graduate Biman to international standard for keeping parity with the national development."

This is his first ever visit to Balaka after becoming the Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister.

He urged the Biman's officials to perform their duty with utmost honesty and sincerity to make the national carrier as an international standard airline.

"We have to be very sincere in ensuring customer services and cargo handling, as Biman is considered as the symbol of Bangladesh image abroad," he said.

Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister S M Gholam Farooq and Chairman of Biman Board Air Marshal (retd) Enamul Bari and CEO and Managing Director Mosaddique Ahmed also spoke on the occasion.
