Govt to give Tk 189cr incentive to boost production of Rabi crops

In the current financial year, the government will give an incentive of Tk 188 crore 89 lakh in order to increase the cultivation and production of 10 crops of Rabi season.    

A press notification of the Ministry of Agriculture revealed this information on Monday.

The incentive will be provided from the Ministry of Agriculture's regular budget for agricultural rehabilitation assistance and seed and seedling sector. An order has already been issued to this end.

According to the notification, the 10 crops include wheat, maize, mustard, sunflower, groundnut, soybean, winter onion, moong, lentil and grass pea (khesari dal).

Under this incentive, some 19 lakh 53 thousand 700 small and marginal farmers of 64 districts will be given free seeds and fertilizers.
