Central bank to release new taka 50 notes

Bangladesh Bank (BB) is going to issue new notes of taka fifty denomination in light red and orange colour combination on December 15 to make clear the difference between the 10 and 50 taka notes. 

The new note has the picture of Bangabandhu sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the signature of Governor Fazle Kabir on it. 

The new 50 taka banknotes will be available at the Motijheel branch of BB from December 15, according to a Bangladesh Bank press release issued yesterday. 

The note would be available at all branches of the central bank, the press release added.

The new fifty taka note will have the design and security features similar to the existing 50 taka note.

The existing taka 50 notes will continue to be in the market as valid banknotes side by side with the new ones.
