Korea gives $7 lakh to address humanitarian challenges in Cox’s Bazar

The government of Korea will provide US $700,000 to address humanitarian challenges in Cox’s Bazar district.

Korea, which has been working closely with the international community in addressing the Rohingya humanitarian crisis since 2017, this year the Republic of Korea will provide The International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) with US dollars 700,000 US dollars for its activities in Cox's Bazar.

In particular, Korea has also been supporting IFRC's Emergency Appeal and Emergency Plan of Action for Population Movement Operation in Cox's Bazar.

Also, the Government of Korea has collaborated with IFRC to address other humanitarian challenges, especially in disaster reduction, in Bangladesh.

Through KOICA (Korea International Cooperation Agency), Korea has implemented two multi-year collaboration projects with IFRC Bangladesh Office on the "Integrated Flood Resilience Program through Community Based Disaster Reduction" in Bangladesh by contributing total US $2 million during the year 2015 to 2020.
