German Bangladesh Medical College and Hospital establishing in BD very soon

An ambitious project under the name “German Bangladesh Medical College & Hospital (GBMCH) Ltd” will be established in Bangladesh very soon.

Main goal of this project is to introduce German Model Medical College and Hospital with excellent German Quality, which is unfortunately absent in Bangladesh.

The “Initiative German University Bangladesh (IGUB)” was founded by a group of enthusiastic, dedicated and highly qualified German Professors of different German Universities headed by Professor Dr.-Ing. Saifullah Khandker, a Bangladeshi who went to Germany for higher studies & turned German.

The IGUB is education oriented, non-profit, non-government and non-political voluntary organisation. This organisation was registered in 2007 in Berlin, Germany.

The aim of IGUB was to establish a German Model Higher Educational Institute in Bangladesh under the name “German University Bangladesh (GUB)”.

The Founders of “German University Bangladesh (GUB)” are the members of IGUB. The GUB has been approved by the Ministry of Education (MOE) and University Grants Commission (UGC) of Bangladesh in the year 2013.

Presently the GUB has 700 students in six Departments. Now, the members of IGUB have taken an initiative to establish a German Model Medical University and Medical Hospital in Bangladesh under the name “German Bangladesh Medical College and Hospital (GBMCH) Ltd.

Talking with FT Team, Prof. Dr. Saifullah Khandker said, "our main aim is to establish the “German Bangladesh Medical Hospital (GBMH)” to function as Charitable Hospital. As we are a not-for-profit, non-tax-supported group practice. This allows us to offer many unique, advanced health care services to the poor people of Bangladesh at competitive prices."

"We want to serve the people of Bangladesh. We would like to ensure that the latest advances in German thinking, German teaching and German treating are brought directly to the Bangladeshi patients. When you hear about a new or advanced treatment at a German Bangladesh Medical Hospital (GBMH), it is often being performed by physician of German Bangladesh Medical University (GBMU) that means the Physicians are the Teaching Staff of German Bangladesh Medical University (GBMU)"

"By this time, we have a piece of land ca. 3244m2 in Purbachal Marine City, near Dhaka for the proposed German Bangladesh Medical College and Hospital (GBMCH). We have already prepared the course curriculam, project profile and necessary documents. We already had a meeting with the Director General of Health Directorate of Bangladesh. He welcomes us open hearted and ensured his support for the project."

German Bangladesh Medical College will offer two types of medical courses. One is MBBS Doctoral course and other is International Recommended Doctoral Degree (Doctor of Medicine). 

These Medical Course will meet the local demand. These Medical Courses are according to the German Curriculam and German Accreditation with cooperation with German Partner University.

After completing the degree, the students will be illegible to work in foreign countries e.g. for European countries including Germany.
