Printing, packaging tradeshow to kick off Thursday

A three-day international technology tradeshow on printing, packaging and consumables will begin on Thursday aimed at bringing global technology to the doorsteps of the local industry.

Some 60 international companies from India, China, Japan, Malaysia, and United Arab Emirates (UAE) will take part in the fair styled as 'PRINTECH Bangladesh 2019' at International Convention City, Bashundhara.

The announcement came at a press conference at a city hotel, organised jointly by ASK Trade & Exhibitions Pvt Ltd and Printing Industries Association of Bangladesh (PlAB).

Shahid Serneabat, chairman of PIAB and Nandagopal K, director, ASK Trade and Exhibitions Pvt Ltd, among others, spoke on the occasion.

The fair on printing, packaging, consumables concurrent with SCREENTEX Bangladesh 2019 will showcase the latest technology of pre-press, in-press, post-press, textile & garment printing, finishing, converting, signage, digital, non-woven, corrugation, paper, flexible packaging, software, consumables from the international companies.

Speaking at the function, Mr. Serneabat said infrastructural development, modern technology and technical know-how along with the installation of the latest world-famous machinery including multi-color printing machine is the need of the hour.

Now about 7,000 printing industries are operating throughout the country, of which almost 2,000 printing houses can be considered modern and updated in technology, he added.

Terming the show as training for entrepreneurs, Nandagopal said this fair will help the Bangladeshi printers learn the state-of the-art technology to this end.

The show will create an international tradeshow platform helping entrepreneurs in bridging the technology gap and providing them exposure and options to source from new suppliers and learn about the newer technologies being offered at the fair, he added.

The first-ever international showcase will remain open from 11:00am to 7:00 pm every day until October 12. The entry is free for all.
