DU suspends Sharmin Jahan

The authorities of Dhaka University have suspended Sharmin Jahan, also the owner of Aparajita International, from the post of assistant registrar for violating rules by doing businesses taking education leave and tarnishing image of the university.

Sharmin got involved in other businesses without having permission from the university authorities while staying on vacation, according to a press release issued by the university on Sunday.

The release also stated that her arrest and remand over involvement in N95 mask scam also tarnished the image of the university.

The authorities of the university also served her with a show-cause notice and asked her to explain within seven days.

On July 24, a forgery case was filed against Aparajita International with Shahbagh Police Station in the city for providing fake masks to Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University Hospital (BSMMU).
