Two including 'Novoair' driver held with 40 gold bars at HISA


The Airport Armed Police Battalion and 
National Security Intelligence (NSI) today arrested two men including a driver of private airline 'Novoair' and seized 40 gold bars worth five crore at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (HSIA).

“The duo were arrested with gold weighing 4.640 kilogram in front of the 
Bangabandhu mural at the airport at 3 pm today”, Additional Superintendent of Police of Airport Armed Police Battalion Mohammad Ziaul Haque said.

The arrested were Novoair driver Md Helal, 51, son of Murshid Alam, hailed from Noakhali’s Basurhat thana and receiver Kamal Hossen, 29, son of Abdul Karim of Chandpur district’s Haimchar upazila. 

Legal steps have been taken against the duo with Airport police station under the special power act, said Ziaul Haque.
