Draft of Education Act finalised to ban note, guide books: Dipu Moni


The Ministry of Education has finalised draft of 'Education Act-2020' by banning of note and guide books for students.

The draft will be sent to the Cabinet soon for its approval, said Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni.

She was addressing Child-Parliament Session-2021 on Wednesday.

“We were looking for Education Act since long. We have finalised draft of the Act amid pandemic. It will be sent to the Cabinet. After completing all procedure, the draft will be placed before the Parliament. If the Parliament passes it, we will get the law,” she said.

Professor Dr Syed Md Golam Faruk, Director General of the Directorate of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education, replied to various questions at the programme.

According to the draft law, the teachers will not be able to entertain students of their own educational institutions in their coaching centres. Besides, teachers and students will be barred from running and attending any coaching during school time.
