National Technical Advisory Committee rules out closure of edn instts


There is no need to shut down educational institutions right now, the National Technical Advisory Committee (NTAC) on Covid-19 has suggested the government.

"We have recommended continuing in-person academic activities as it is now. We will sit again considering the Covid-19 situation and will discuss to fix the best option if necessary," Prof Dr Mohammad Shahidullah, president of the NTAC told newsmen.

He came up with the development to dispel public confusion if created after the government took hardline stance to curb Omicron variant of Covid-19.

The government recently announced a set of guidelines to be followed by the people.

Compulsory use of facemask and avoidance of any political, social and religious gathering have to be ensured.

The government also decided to operate mobile court to punish the mask rule violators.
