Eid holiday for edn instts begins
The holidays for educational institutions have commenced today (Tuesday), coordinating various occasions such as Ramadan, Independence Day, and Eid-ul-Fitr.
As per the holiday schedule, a month-long vacation was scheduled to commence in primary and madrasas on 10 March March, and in secondary schools on 11 March.
However, a 15-day reduction in the vacation period for secondary schools was implemented to address the learning deficit. In addition, it was decided to keep primary schools open for the first 10 days of the fasting month of Ramadan.
A writ petition was filed in the High Court challenging the Ministry of Education's decision. Subsequently, the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court ruled in favour of keeping secondary schools open for 15 days during the fasting period, aligning with the ministry's decision on holiday coordination.
Consequently, the holiday duration for primary schools was reduced to 10 days in accordance with the ministry's directive. As a result, classes and examinations in primary schools continued until March 21.
The holiday began on 22 March. After the holiday, the class-examinations will begin on 21 April.
Mentionable, the holiday began in public and private colleges on 25 March. In madrasas, the holiday began from 22 March.
