BASIS National ICT Awards 2019 Kicks Off


The grand ceremony of BASIS National ICT Awards 2019 would be held at Radisson Blu Water Garden in the capital. In 35 categories, 105 will be awarded at the ceremony and the awardees would be nominated for APICTA Awards, organizers said.

This year 1,175 projects have vied for the BASIS National ICT Awards 2019 powered by IPDC Finance Limited, organizers said.

Organizers of the BASIS National ICT Awards 2019 came up with the announcement at a press conference held in BASIS (Bangladesh Association of Software & Information Services) auditorium at karwanbazar in the capital.

They said the winners of BASIS National ICT Awards would be nominated for APICTA Awards 2019, which will be held at Ha Long Bay, Vietnam on November 18-23.

At the Award ceremony, Dr Hasan Mahmud, Minister for Information will be present as chief guest.

Besides, Farhad Hossain, State Minister for Public Administration, Sharif Ahmed, State Minister for Social Welfare; Zunaid Ahmed Palak, State Minister for ICT Division are the special guests.

IPDC Finance Limited has tied up with BASIS to organize BASIS National ICT Awards for the next 5 years.  A MoU has been signed in this regard on Thursday.

At the press conference BASIS President Syed Almas Kabir, Vice President (Finance) Mushfiqur Rahman, Convener of BASIS National ICT Awards and BASIS Director Didarul Alam were present.

IPDC Finance Limited Managing Director and CEO, Mominul Islam, DMD and Head of Business Finance Rizwan Dawood Shams and Head of Corporate Communications Mahzabin Ferdous were present.

BASIS President Syed Almas Kabir said: "In BASIS National ICT Awards, innovative and prospective ICT projects of Bangladesh would be recognized. Through a robust judging process, the best candidates would be selected. These projects depict the wide potential of Bangladesh’s ICT sector."

BASIS Director and Convener of BASIS National ICT Awards 2019 Didarul Alam said: "This year, we are organizing BASIS National ICT Awards as per the standard of APICTA Awards. There will be laser show and cultural fest at the ceremony."

IPDC Finance Limited’s Managing Director and CEO Mominul Islam said: "The objective of BASIS National ICT Awards is to provide recognition to outstanding achievements of individuals, students, entrepreneurs, SMEs and organizations having operations in Bangladesh.”

“People who have contributed to the development of the Digital Bangladesh initiatives  and in developing IT-related applications and services for the benefit of Bangladesh will be recognized. We want to be a long term partner in this initiative and on Friday our collaborative journey has begun."

National ICT Awards has been an annual program of Bangladesh Association of Software and Information Services (BASIS) since 2017. The objective of the BASIS National ICT Awards is to provide recognition to outstanding achievements of individuals, students, entrepreneurs, SMEs and organizations.
