Govt approves Tk2,05,145cr ADP for FY21 


The government today approved the Annual Development Programme (ADP) worth Tk205,145 crore for the next fiscal year prioritizing transport sector. 

The approval came from the meeting of the National Economic  Council (NEC) held at NEC conference room in the capital.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina presided over the meeting connecting through video conference.

Transport sector got Tk52,183 crore allocation which is 25.44pc of total ADP. While physical planning, water supply and housing got Tk25,795 crore and power sector got Tk24,804 crore allocation.

Though the health sector needed more ADP allocation amid the Covid-19 situation, but this sector got only Tk13,033 crore.

Planning Minister MA Mannan disclosed about the approved ADP at a press briefing after the meeting.

He said, the government will provide Tk1,34,643 crore from own resources and Tk70,502 crore would be collected from foreign sources as project support.

The minister also said, autonomous institutions would spent Tk9,466 crore from their fund to implement own financed projects. Total size of the ADP would reach Tk2,14,611 crore.

Source in the planning ministry said, the government approved ADP for the current fiscal year worth Tk2,15,114 crore, which reduced to Tk2,01,198 crore recently.
