PM seeks global support for Rohingya repatriation

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has called for global support to get Rohingya strangers repatriated to their homeland Myanmar.

She made the call addressing the 10th summit of the D-8 countries on Thursday.

The summit discussed ways to boost trade, investment, ICT, address climate challenges and Rohingya issue virtually.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina led Bangladesh delegation at the D-8 Summit participated by the leaders of Egypt, Indonesia, Iran, Malaysia, Nigeria, Pakistan and Turkey.

Meanwhile, Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu handed the chairmanship of D-8 Council of Foreign Ministers to his Bangladesh counterpart Dr AK Abdul Momen for next two years.

Foreign Minister Dr Momen chaired the meeting in presence of the Foreign Ministers of the D-8 Member States on Wednesday.
