Public-private employees will have to stay work stations during Eid holiday


Relaxing some conditions, the government has extended lockdown from May 6 to 16 in a bid to chek the spread of coronavirus or Covid-19 in the country.

Besides, the government has announced a three-day holiday for Eid-ul-Fitr. But, public and and private sector employees and industrial workers will have to stay at work stations in these three days.

State Minister for Public Administration Farhad Hossain on Tuesday said necessary instructions were given to those concerned in this conncetion.

The state minister said, "The public and private sectors will get three-day holiday for Eid-ul-Fitr this time. We had a plan to grant one day holiday. It seems that the two days of Eid holiday will be on Friday and Saturday, so that no one can go anywhere or leave Dhaka. The reason is that eighty percent of the infections are occured in Dhaka."
