Sources said nine pairs of special train will run marking the Eid.

A passenger will get maximum four tickets and sold tickets will not be returned. There were long queues in front of all the counters at Kamalapur Railway Station in Dhaka with some people waiting for those to open since last night.

“Arrangements of all-time vigilance with the cooperation of the law enforcement agencies will be taken to prevent ticket black marketing,” Bangladesh Railway Director General Md Amzad Hossain said, adding mobile court drives would be carried out with the cooperation of the deputy commissioners.

“A total of 26 counters are selling tickets from 8:00am, among which two are reserved for women only,” Amzad said.

“We are trying our best in order to ensure tickets for everyone,” the DG said.

Earlier on May 24, Railways Minister Mujibul Haque fixed June 1 to begin the advance train ticket sales.
