Who are these reckless running!Fakrul-Noor Ali syndicate's attempt to capture the Malaysian labor market
Several leaders of Bangladesh Association of Recruiting Agencies (BAIRA) and some businessmen are trying to capture the Malaysian labor market under the leadership of controversial businessmen Fakrul Islam and Noor Ali.
Recently, they also met Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim. Their motive was to control the Malaysian labor market by bribing the government officials there. But they did not succeed.
A complaint has also been submitted to the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) to take action against them. Among ordinary businessmen, the question has arisen; who are trying to take control of the labor market?
According to the complaint submitted to the ACC, a delegation of recruiting agency businessmen recently met with the Prime Minister of Malaysia.
Jamil Hossain of Mas Bangla Overseas (RL No-1553), Fakrul Islam of HR Development Center (LL-452), Noor Ali of Unique Eastern Private Limited (RL-21), Noman Chowdhury of Damasi Corporation (RL-727), Zainab Mahbubul Karim Siddique Zafar of Zafarin International (RL) and Shamim Ahmed Noman of Sadia International (RL-492) were present in that meeting.
Md. Mostafa Mahmud of Micro Export House (RL-448), Altaf Khan of Afia Overseas (RL-1010) and Riaz of Riaz Overseas (RL-30) who claimed to be acting president of Bayra were also involved in this syndicate.
According to the complain, Fakrul Islam was the biggest beneficiary of 10 syndicates of labor recruitment trade in Malaysia during Sheikh Hasina's tenure. Welcome Medical Centre was established for health check-up trade of workers going to Malaysia. About 70,000 workers have been subjected to nominal health checks and have stolen billions of taka. Now he is trying to hide his previous identity and to take advantage. He has at least two licenses listed by 101 Recruiting Agencies. His agency and Wellcome Medical Center are also on the list of associate recruiting agency.
After the closure of Malaysian labor market on May 31 of this year, he and his few associates are trying to form a strong syndicate to send people to Malaysia in a different formula.
Recently, a photo of them with some influential leaders of a ruling political party in Malaysia went viral on social media.
It is known that Fakhrul and his followers were invited on the basis of sponsoring a large amount of money in a political program. Not only that, he also met with the relevant government officials of the Ministry of Labor of Malaysia and give them a proposal. But they rejected his proposal. After that, he returned to the country claiming himself deprived and started various misdeeds.
A businessman involved in the manpower export said that Fakhrul is now lobbying to become the president of Bayra. He is taking stance on anti-syndicate to gain sympathy from various quarters. But he was always a part of the syndicate and syndicated himself.
Expatriate Bangladeshis complain against Fakhrul that he is pushing the labor market towards destruction by giving wrong and misleading information in various talk shows, social media platform and other media. As his statements were spreading by his followers in Malaysia, potential employers became reluctant to hire Bangladeshi workers.
Bayra members said, Fakhrul Islam is the behind owner of Tribeni International and Celebrity International, a anonymous organization belonging to 101 syndicate. He is trading in the name of others without using his license directly. Others who do business have one license while he has 2 license.
Additionally, other traders may have been within the main 101 agency or with affiliated recruiting agencies. Some were just at the medical center. He is the only person who is everywhere.
Concerned people said that because of him and his associate syndicate, wrong messages are being sent about Bangladesh in various countries including Malaysia. Businessmen feel that it is important to bring all these leaders under accountability quickly.
About the complaint, former joint general secretary of Bayra Fakrul Islam said, I am a businessman in Malaysia. It is my right to send workers to Malaysia. I sent many workers but I did not make any syndicate.
He said, I will always speak to protect the rights of honorable members. I will definitely take responsibility if any Bangladeshi workers fall in problem in Malaysia.
According to sources, the Awami Syndicate is destabilizing the Malaysian labor market. Their convictions are still pending. Still about twenty thousand workers could not go to Malaysia. The money of these helpless workers is in the hands of a syndicate.
These poor, helpless and innocent people have been roaming around agencies for years by selling land, houses, jewelery and bringing money on interest
The current interim government has already shown a glimmer of hope. Last week, Malaysia's Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim came to Bangladesh. During his short visit, He paid a courtesy call on chief advisor Dr Yunus.
He promise to bring back 20,000 workers to go to Malaysia. He came on a 4-hour visit and said that these 20,000 workers will be taken to Malaysia very soon.
