Who is this Mamun, a friend of the fascist government?

After the political change, the fascist government's allies were transferred to different departments, but no legal action was taken against them. They are involved in various types of damage and conspiracies to disrupt the activities of the interim government.

There is also information against them that they have changed their minds overnight and established relations with various political leaders. In return, they are spending lakhs of taka on political leaders. One of them is Executive Engineer Md. Al Mamun.

Executive Engineer Md. Al Mamun, Civil Aviation, EM Division-1 Airport, is currently working in charge of EM-3, Dhaka. There are serious allegations that he misused his power during the tenure of the fallen government, embezzled hundreds of crores of taka through tender trading, fake bill vouchers and contractors without doing any work.

There are also allegations that he has illegally built a mountain of illegal wealth worth hundreds of crores of taka by smuggling gold.

Mamun was known to everyone as a powerful officer during the Awami League government. After changing power, he suddenly developed relations with several BNP leaders.

There are rumors that they are giving shelter to Mamun in exchange for money. However, when the matter was informed to the BNP high command, the leaders said that the party is suffering because of them. They are using the names of various leaders including the party chairperson.

ACC sources have reported that a complaint has been filed with the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) against Md. Mamun for his involvement in irregularities and corruption.

The complaint written by the ACC reveals that Executive Engineer Md. Al Mamun is working in Civil Aviation at Dhaka Airport. He has been working in Civil Aviation's E,M Division-1 for a long time and has embezzled crores of taka by colluding with contractors by showing fake work tenders. He is involved in the airport's gold smuggling syndicate. Mamun has illegally acquired illegal wealth worth hundreds of crores of taka.

The said official used to show his power by syndicating with the aviation and tourism minister of the Awami League government and taking care of everyone. Now he is again committing corruption by colluding with local leaders of BNP. To prevent his crimes, the names of central leaders including the BNP chairperson are being sold. This is defaming the party. They are becoming active in covering up the allegations against Mamun.

Mamun's wealth statement

There is a flat in the name of Executive Engineer Md. Al Mamun at house number 105, Road number 8, Sector number 12, Uttara, Dhaka. Its area is 2,100 square feet and the purchase price is 25 million taka.

There is an 8-katha plot (next to the stadium) in Rajuk Purbachal with a purchase price of 10 crore taka.

He has purchased 2 bighas of land in Ashulia, Dhaka. The purchase price of which is fifty crore taka. He has purchased 1 bighas of land along the highway road under Keraniganj police station for twelve crore taka.

He purchased a flat at Gulshan-2, Road-3, House No. 41, Dhaka for Tk 5 crore. He purchased a flat at Panthapath for Tk 2 crore.

He has purchased 150 bighas of land in his father's name, brother's name, sister's name, his own name and his wife's name in his own district Thakurgaon. The purchase price is 150 million taka. In addition, he has 100 million taka of FDRs in his name in various banks in Bangladesh.

Mamun purchased a house in Canada in his wife's name for Tk 120 million. He purchased shares in Canada in his wife's name for Tk 300 million.

The complaint states that Mamun Syndicate committed major fraud in the tender including details of state-of-the-art LED lights inside the VIP and international terminals of LGP panel cabs. Although the supply of very excellent and quality products was promised on paper, in reality the opposite happened. Most of the goods were purchased from China. This syndicate, along with Rafiz, the local leader of the fallen government, his brother Rakib, son Fuad and brother-in-law Uttarar Mukul, has monopolized work everywhere, including the EM-1 section of the airport. And in this work, they have continued to work for years, pleasing all the officials including the executive assistants concerned.

Mamun was originally in charge of the mechanical and electrical aspects of the highly sensitive parts of the EM-1 airport. He is currently working at EM-3. During his time at EM-1, Executive Engineer Mamun embezzled hundreds of crores of taka.

Engineer Mamun was the leader of the Buet Chhatra League. His elder brother is the leader of Thakurgaon Awami League. After investigation, it was found that Assistant Engineer Shahin Alam of the same department was also a former Chhatra League leader. During the time of the fallen government, everyone was close to them due to their power. Because of them, the contractor has been supplying low-quality products through financial corruption by showing high prices from the government.

Irregularities in the tender

The investigation revealed that the tender number 831919 was done by the company of Fuad, the head of Rafiz Enterprises. This Fuad is a beneficiary of former Health Minister Zahid Malek and an anonymous contractor in the name of the Health Ministry. Since Zahid Malek was an illegal beneficiary, the lights were supplied by Cosmo Lighting, a light company owned by the former Health Minister's nephew.

A person in charge of the CAB store, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said that the LGP panels that arrived were of very low quality and all had fake Chinese testing certificates submitted. It is worth noting that the tender sought European and international certificates.

A company called Magaman provided unethical benefits to Assistant Engineer Shahin Alam by first accepting a small consignment of low-quality goods through a contractor named Aziz. Later, under the unwritten instructions of the executive engineer, the bulk of the work was done by receiving even lower-quality goods from BD Thai Cosmo, a company owned by the nephew of the former Health Minister.

The investigation also revealed that BD Thai Cosmo Ltd. is a defaulter at Exim Bank Gulshan 2 branch and their import license has been suspended for the past few years.

According to reliable sources, the nephew of the former health minister has laundered hundreds of crores of taka out of the country through this Cosmo.

EM-1 Executive Engineer Mamun and Assistant Engineer Shahin, supported by the former Sairachari government, have turned CAB EM-1 into a haven for corruption and fraud. They have amassed hundreds of crores of taka of illegal wealth through complete irregularities and corruption.

The victims said that Mamun and Shaheen were the masterminds of corruption. They established Ramrajtva during the fall of the government. Their arrogance and the entire department were upset. But no one dared to speak out due to fear. However, now many have started speaking out. They have demanded a proper investigation into all the allegations raised against Mamun.

According to sources from the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC), a complaint has been filed in this regard. Necessary steps will be taken after investigation, ACC sources said.

Despite multiple attempts to contact with the accused executive engineer, Md. Al Mamun, in this matter, he could not be reached.
