PM to brief media about China visit this afternoon


Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will brief media on Monday afternoon about the outcomes of her just-concluded visit to China.

The press conference will be held at PM's official residence Ganobhaban at 4pm, PM's speech writer M Nazrul Islam said.

Sheikh Hasina went to China on July 1 on a five day official visit.

During her visit, Sheikh Hasina attended the annual meeting of World Economic Forum (WEF) in Dalianon July 2 as well as held as held talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping and Prime Minister Li Keqiang in Beijing on July 5 and 4 respectively.

She also held meeting with Communist Party of China (CPC )Minister for International Affairs Song Tao.

All the Chinese high-ups expressed their interest in helping Bangladesh to resolve the Rohingya crisis through convincing the Myanmar government and its leaders.

During her visit, Bangladesh and China signed nine instruments, including two loan agreements, for further strengthening cooperation on power, water resources, culture and tourism sectors as well as for providing 2500 metric tonnes rice for the displaced Rohingyas.
