Tablig Jamaat urges followers to return home to contain COVID-19

NEWS DESK

Tablig Jamaat Bangladesh has urged its followers (Muslims devotees) to return home instead of attending any congregation or three chilla (120 days) or one chilla (40 days) in a bid to check the transmission of coronavirus (COVID-19) in the country.

A statement signed by Tabligh Jamaat Bangladesh’s Faisal and Ahle Sura Professor Yunus Sikder revealed this information on Tuesday quoting the government’s order restricting visit to places of worships across the country.

“It has been unanimously decided that everyone must take the government order into account and follow it in your own districts,” Yunus Sikder said in the statement, referring to the notice issued by the Ministry of Religious Affairs earlier.

Participants of all congregations, a 40-day travel from one mosque to another to attend lectures and call people to prayers, were asked to return home with the help of administration if necessary and say prayers at home.

Mentionable, three Tablig Jamaat attendees tested positive for coronavirus in Singair Upazila  of Manikganj on Tuesday.
