SAARC Human Rights Foundation Secretary General meeting with the Chief Election Commissioner of NepalNepal Election Commission is interested in observing the twelfth election of Bangladesh
Bangladesh's development progress has caught the attention of South Asian countries. This development has been possible due to the long tenure of the present government in power.
The government should provide maximum assistance to the Election Commission to strengthen the democratic system. An acceptable election in a populous country like Bangladesh is very challenging. Without the cooperation of political parties and the general public, the Election Commission will not be able to conduct an acceptable election.
There is no substitute for joint cooperation to ensure democracy and good governance in South Asian countries. Nepal has a keen interest in the upcoming 12th parliamentary elections in Bangladesh.
Nepal's Chief Election Commissioner Dinesh Kumar Thapaliya said that he would send the highest number of observers from the Election Commission of Nepal and other organizations in Nepal if invited.
During his visit to Nepal, today July 15, 2022 Chairman of the Election Monitoring Forum and Secretary General of the SAARC Human Rights Foundation, Prof. Mohammad Abed Ali, in an exchange of views with the Chief Election Commissioner and other Election Commissioners at the Election Commission building in Nepal.
Chief Election Commissioner said that Members of the Election Monitoring Forum will be able to observe the upcoming parliamentary elections in Nepal.
It was attended by Najir Mia, former Member of Parliament & President of SAARC Human Rights Foundation Nepal, Advocate Mahamadin Ali, member of Muslim Commission, Haqiqullah Muslim, Former Minister of Nepal, Junaid Ansari, Former Member of Parliament, Mizanur Rahman Majumder, Central Vice President of SAARC Human Rights Foundation and editor of News BNA, Bangabandhu researcher Muhammad Masum Chowdhury, Central Director and lifetime member Iftekhar Abedin Chowdhury.
