BNP calls dawn-to-dusk nationwide hartal for Sunday

Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) has announced dawn-to-dusk hartal across the country for Sunday.

BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir made the announcement from a rally held at the party’s Nayapaltan central office.

The hartal was announced protesting the attacks of the law enforcers and the ruling party men on BNP’s rally.

BNP was holding the rally to realise its one-point topple government demand.

BNP leaders alleged that the clash began when activists from the ruling Awami League engaged in a confrontation with BNP men near Nightingale intersection around 1 pm.

The clash subsequently escalated, spreading to the surrounding areas and resulting in a situation like a battle.
