The marathon started from Army Stadium at 05:30 am and will be ended in Hatirjheel Amphitheatre after passing through Banani - Kamal Ataturk Avenue - Gulsan-1, Gulshan 2 and Police Plaza area.

A total of 200 local and foreign runners from different countries, including Mexico, France, Spain, Italy and Ukraine, are participating in the marathon, with 100 in the full marathon and 100 in the half marathon.

Around 30 runners participated from SAFF countries, including India, the Maldives, Nepal and Sri Lanka.

Multiple medical and hydration points are being set up along the route, as well as roaming ambulances and security detail, all to ensure runner safety.

In association of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Birth Centenary Celebration National Implementation Committee and coordination of the Armed Forces Division, Bangladesh Army introduced the marathon in 2021.

As part of international reorganisation, the marathon has managed to get permission from Asian Athletic Association and Association of International Marathons and Distance Races.

On the occasion, traffic around Hatirjheel and adjacent areas will be suspended for seven hours from 5:00am Monday, according to the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Traffic Division.

DMP has requested city dwellers to take the Moghbazar-Mouchak route from Rainbow Crossing to travel to Gulshan, Banasree, Rampura and Badda instead of Hatirjheel.

In addition, commuters have been asked to take the Gulshan-Badda Link Road from Rampura U-loop and Islam Tower and avoid Hatirjheel.

Besides this, DMP has requested vehicles that used to go through Hatirjheel from Police Plaza to use the road between Police Plaza and Shooting Club via Badda Link Road.

The DMP Traffic Division sought everyone's cooperation to maintain traffic discipline during the marathon.
