US Congressman Garbarino lauds Bangladesh’s growth under PM Sheikh Hasina’s leadership

US Congressman Andrew Garbarino has lauded Bangladesh’s progress over the last 14 years under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. 

He also appreciated Bangladesh government’s efforts to ensure free and fair elections under an independent Election Commission. 

“I have learned a lot about Bangladesh, the success and growth that the nation has seen in the last 14 years under the current Prime Minister,” he told reporters after attending a function in New York, USA on Friday. 

Congressman Garbarino said that Prime Minister Hasina’s government has enabled the Election Commission to work independently to make sure that there are "free and fair" elections and to show its commitment to the international community. 

“All I can say, I hope that the growth that Bangladesh has seen, its economy, and what has been done in the energy sector and infrastructure—and what has been done to combat terrorism and extremism—I think Bangladesh should be an example for other countries,” Congressman Garbarino said.
