PM announces state mourning on Saturday for Palestinians killed in Israel attack


Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina today announced a one-day state mourning to be observed in the country on Saturday (Oct 21) in commemoration of Palestenians killed in Israel's air strike.

On that day, the national flag would be hoisted at half-mast in all public and private institutions nationwide, and all Bangladesh missions abroad, she said during an event at the headquarters of the Roads and Highways Department in the capital.

Following her announcement, the Cabinet division has issued a circular in this regard.

"The government has decided to observe a one-day state mourning for the lives of Palestinians lost in the brutal attacks by Israeli occupying forces in various locations in Palestine, including Gaza," stated the circular.

Condemning the killings in Gaza, the Prime Minister called for an immediate end to the violence.
