Bank, stock market holiday today

All types of bank transactions will be closed to mark the bank holiday on Tuesday. Bank holiday is observed on December 31 every year.

On this day the accounts sent from different branches of banks are consolidated and the annual financial report is prepared. That is why this day is considered a 'bank holiday'.

Stock market transactions will also be closed on this day. However, the head offices and important branches of all commercial banks, including Bangladesh Bank (BB), will stay open.

Bank holiday is also observed on 31 July. The Banks and the capital market will be open as usual on Wednesday. The Bangladesh Bank will also operate on the same schedule.
