Eminent historian Professor Muntasir Mamun is being shifted to the capital's Combined Military Hospital (CMH) hospital from Mugda General Hospital.

"His condition is currently stable. But he is coughing more frequently," Mugda General Hospital's Covid-19 Team focal person Dr Mahbubur Rahman said.

"The condition of a Covid-19 patient can get better or deteriorate at any time. That's why the hospital authorities informed the prime minister that they want to shift him (Muntasir Mamun) to CMH, and the PM instructed to do so."

Earlier on May 3, the Dhaka University professor was taken to Mugda General Hospital in the capital with symptoms of the Covid-19.

He was diagnosed with the novel coronavirus on the next day.
