Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) in separate mobile court drives on Wednesday issued a total of 38 fines, amounting to Tk 167,700 for alleged violations of the government’s social distancing measures.

Several DMP teams, headed by its executive magistrates, conducted the drives in the capital and handed out the fines to two under construction buildings, one factory, eight vehicles, 23 shop owners and four persons in 38 separate cases for breaching the order.

Law enforcement agencies with the help of Bangladesh Army have been implementing the government directives on social distancing throughout the country aiming to stem the spread of coronavirus.
