The Bangladesh government has decided to stop 4G internet services at Rohingya camps in Cox’s Bazar in spite of the opposition from the international community.
Foreign Minister Dr AK Abdul Momen disclosed this on Wednesday.
The decision came in the wake of clashes that took place at the Rohingya camps a day before.
Momen said clashes inside the camps are harmful to the image of both Myanmar and Bangladesh.
Talking to the reporters, he informed that the camps will be fenced as per a previous decision.
Replying to a question, the minister said the issue of the trial of Bangladeshi lawmaker Shahid Islam Papul was not discussed at the official level during his recent visit to Kuwait.
“But we heard from unofficial sources that he is facing trial as a local resident,” Momen said.
The minister mentioned that Kuwait will decide on Wednesday night whether to reopen its labour market to foreign workers.
