The education ministry’s Special Assistant Prof M Aminul Islam will be sworn in as a new adviser at the Bangabhaban on Wednesday morning.
The Cabinet Division and education ministry have confirmed the matter.
Prof M Aminul Islam served as vice chancellors of National University during 2002-2006 and the Shahjajal University of Science and Technology (SUST) during 2006-2009.
He was a professor of physics and Rajshahi University.
The interim government, led by Dr. Muhammad Yunus as the Chief Adviser, was formed on August 8 following the fall of Sheikh Hasina’s government amid student and public protests.
Several new advisers have been appointed since then, bringing the total number of advisers in the government, including the Chief Adviser, to 21.
