A low-pressure system may form over the Bay of Bengal within the next 24 hours, according to the Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD). Under these conditions, heavy rainfall is expected in three divisions of the country.
The forecast, issued on Saturday morning for the next 120 hours, said that the monsoon trough extends from Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Gangetic West Bengal, and southern Bangladesh to Assam.
An extension of this trough also reaches the northern Bay of Bengal. The monsoon is moderately active over Bangladesh and strong over the northern Bay.
A low-pressure area may develop over the northwestern Bay of Bengal and nearby regions within 24 hours. Due to this, temporary gusty winds accompanied by lightning and light to moderate rain or thundershowers are likely at most places in Khulna, Barishal, and Chattogram divisions, and at many places in Rangpur, Rajshahi, Dhaka, Mymensingh, and Sylhet divisions by 9:00 AM on Sunday.
Additionally, some areas in Khulna, Barishal, and Chattogram divisions may experience moderate to heavy rainfall.
Day and night temperatures across the country are expected to remain nearly unchanged.
