Businessman Shameem Hussain was elected as the President of Dhaka Club in the recently held Annual General Meeting and Board of Directors' election of the club.

The election was held on Saturday. According to reports, the newly elected President of Dhaka Club, Shamim Hossain, is the Director of Robin Printing & Packaging and a former President of Uttara Club.

He came first with 683 votes, beating the Daily Sangbad Editor Altamash Kabir, who came in second with 495 votes.

Asfarul Islam and AA Ibrahim were the other two candidates vying for the post of president for Bangladesh's venerable member's club.

In addition, ten members have been elected to the club’s board. The newly elected members are Tajbir Salehin (Sohel), Mohammad Rabiul Islam Azad, Tanvir Ahmed Miki, Kujesta Nur-e-Naharin (Munni), Tuhin Reza, Naeem Md Kaiyum, Israt Helal, Mojaharul Haque Shahid, Md Aminur Reza Khan (Dulal), and Ehsanul Haque (Dipu).
