Chief Adviser Prof Muhammad Yunus has assured the nation that the recent series of major fires across the country are being thoroughly investigated by the security services.
In a statement issued on Saturday, the chief adviser said that authorities are working with “utmost vigilance to protect lives and property.”
He emphasised that any credible evidence of sabotage or arson will be met with a swift and resolute response.
The chief adviser further warned that no act of criminality or provocation would be allowed to disrupt public life or the political process.
“If these fires were intended to sow panic and division, they will only succeed if we allow fear to overcome our reason and unity,” he said, calling on citizens to remain calm and steadfast.
“Bangladesh has faced many challenges before,” the statement concluded. “Together, we will confront any threats to our new democracy with unity, calm, and determination. We have nothing to fear but fear itself.”
