Amid the escalating tensions in the Middle East, China has directly signaled its support for Iran. According to Iran International, the Chinese government has announced $200,000 in emergency humanitarian aid following a devastating missile strike on a school in Minab, a city in southern Iran, which resulted in the deaths of several students.

On Friday (March 13), Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun stated that the aid would be channeled through the Red Crescent Society and serves as a symbol of solidarity with the families of the deceased and the injured.

Spokesperson Guo Jiakun remarked, "The attack on a school and the loss of innocent children's lives is a grave violation of international humanitarian law. China consistently believes in the humanitarian spirit and will continue to assist the people of Iran in overcoming this crisis during these difficult times."

Furthermore, while the United States and its allies called for stricter sanctions against Iran at the UN Security Council, Russia and China acted as a shield for Tehran. During a Security Council meeting held in New York on Friday (March 13), the U.S. attempted to justify military action against Iran, a move that was met with resistance from Moscow and Beijing. Serious allegations were exchanged between the parties during the session.

As the current monthly president of the Security Council, Washington proposed activating the activities of the '1737 Committee'—which oversees UN sanctions on Iran. Although Russia and China attempted to block this discussion, their efforts failed during the voting process.
