French football legend Zinedine Zidane is set to become the head coach of the France national team, succeeding Didier Deschamps, who has held the position since 2012. According to ESPN, the 53-year-old former Real Madrid manager has given a verbal commitment to the French Football Federation and will take charge after this summer. Zidane, who famously led Real Madrid to three consecutive Champions League titles between 2016 and 2018, returns to the national team where he achieved iconic status as a player by winning the 1998 World Cup. After a storied career that ended dramatically with a red card in the 2006 World Cup final, Zidane now looks to lead Kylian Mbappé and the squad toward future international glory.
