Covid tests now free for poor

The government has decided to provide Covid-19 tests free of cost for the poor, said a notification issued by the Health Services Division on Thursday.

The free tests will be available throughout the month of July.

More tests are needed due to the deteriorating Covid situation in the country, however, it is difficult for the poor to test multiple members of their families, the notification said.

The decision was taken considering this situation, it added.
