DCCI, Vietnam embassy ink deal to foster trade & investment


Bilateral trade between Bangladesh and Vietnam can be enhanced through mutual cooperation, business delegation exchange and joint research, President of Dhaka Chamber of Commerce & Industry Rizwan Rahman has said.

He said that bilateral trade between the two countries currently hovers around $650 million which can be boosted if mutual cooperation is increased.

Rizwan said this while singing a Memorandum of Cooperation on behalf of DCCI with the Embassy of Vietnam in Bangladesh recently in the capital.

After signing the agreement for the Vietnam embassy, ambassador Pham Viet Chien urged the parties concerned to effectively implement the agreement. He also termed diplomatic relations between Bangladesh and Vietnam as very friendly.

According to the cooperation, both DCCI and Vietnam embassy will organise B2B match-making, buyer-seller meets, trade fairs, business promotion activities, promoting goods-services and field visits. Moreover, to facilitate cooperation between businesses, the embassy will coordinate with DCCI to set up a special desk at the DCCI office.

NKA Mobin, senior vice president of DCCI and Monowar Hossain, vice president of the trade body, were also present during the occasion.
