Mahdi Amin outlines govt’s five measures over HSC exams
Alongside a significant improvement in weather conditions, students participated in the examinations with enthusiasm and confidence
Mahdi Amin, the prime minister’s adviser and spokesperson, on Wednesday outlined five “student-friendly measures” the government has adopted to ensure the smooth conduct of HSC and equivalent examinations.
In a Facebook post, he also claimed that HSC and equivalent examinations were held peacefully and in an orderly manner at 2,583 examination centres across the country, except under the Chattogram Education Board, on Wednesday.
Alongside a significant improvement in weather conditions, students participated in the examinations with enthusiasm and confidence, the PM’s adviser added in the post.
Afterwards he outlined the five timely and student-friendly measures the government has taken to address the challenges posed by recent adverse weather:
1. Based on the opinions of divisional commissioners, deputy commissioners, superintendents of police, chairmen of all education boards, officials of the Meteorological Department and other stakeholders, and giving priority to the interests of the overwhelming majority of students, it was unanimously decided to continue the HSC and equivalent examinations across the country as scheduled, except under the Chattogram Education Board.
2. Local administrations have been instructed to take any necessary measures—including changing examination centres, postponing examinations or extending examination time—if students face difficulties due to transportation disruptions or waterlogging.
3. Students who were unable to sit for any ongoing HSC or equivalent examination because of adverse weather or other unavoidable circumstances will be allowed to take the missed examination using the same question paper as the corresponding postponed examination under the Chattogram Education Board, on the date and time to be set by the Ministry of Education.
4. All examinees will be awarded full marks for the two erroneous questions in the Physics First Paper examination.
5. Those responsible for preparing the faulty Physics First Paper question paper have been temporarily suspended.
To the Prime Minister, the HSC examination is not merely a public examination; it is a crucial milestone in shaping the future of those who will build tomorrow's Bangladesh. For this reason, the government remains fully committed to conducting the examinations with the highest level of sincerity and responsibility. Ensuring students' welfare and maintaining the continuity of their education remain among the key priorities of the democratic state.
