The Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) on Monday sued an Open Market Sale (OMS) dealer in Bogura for embezzling 710kg of rice.
Aminul Islam, assistant director of ACC, filed the case against Md Moshiur Rahman, OMS dealer in Shibganj upazilla of the district.
In the FIR of the case, ACC said Moshiur Rahman enlisted 17 receivers' names twice or thrice to a list of total 538 receivers. He also didn't give entry of 140 kg rice in the register. Thus he embezzled 710kg of rice.
ACC spokesperson Pranab Kumar Bhattachariya confirmed it to media, saying a team has been directed to arrest Moshiur.
Warning everybody regarding relief misappropriation, ACC Chairman Iqbal Mahmood said, "Those, who embezzle relief items from social safety net programmes, would be brought under legal procedure. Nobody would be spared."
"The purge has been started from Bogura," the anti-graft boss added.
