The High Court will resume regular functions dealing with all sorts of cases and petitions on Wednesday, five months into hiatus following corona pandemic.
Chief Justice Syed Mahmud Hossain constituted 18 physical benches and 35 virtual benches of the High Court to go into full-fledged judicial operation.
Of the regular benches, 15 are division and three are single benches, said two separate notifications issued by the Supreme Court administration on Monday.
Besides, 24 division benches and 11 single benches will function virtually.
Lawyers will be at liberty to move cases either before the physical or virtual benches.
The Chamber Judge and regular bench of the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court will discharge judicial services digitally till further order.
Lower courts across the country already started physical function a few days back.
Functions of the judiciary came to a halt on March 25 after detection of corona infection in the country. However, the apex and lower courts both have been operating for months to settle emergency matters.
