A fire broke out at a grid substation at Mymensingh's Kewatkhali power station on Tuesday noon.
Following the incident, power supply to neighbouring Jamalpur, Sherpur and Netrokona districts faced disruptions.
"The fire broke out at around 1pm today," Abul Hossain, deputy director of the Fire Service and Civil Defense Mymensingh division said.
"The fire was brought under control by 2pm. We are investigating to find out the cause of fire," he added.
Two fire service units brought the fire under control after 1-hour effort, he added.
Fire was primarily appeared to have started from a short circuit. There are three power transformers in the substation where one caught fire
