Foreign Minister A. K. Abdul Momen requested the Saudi Arabia to increase the number of flights required for facilitating the travel of Saudi expatriate Bangladeshis to the gulf country.
The foreign minister made the request over phone to his Saudi counterpart Prince Faisal Bin Farhan Al-Saud on Sunday, according to a foreign ministry statement.
He also welcomed Saudi Arabia’s decision to extend the period for Ikama and issue visas.
Meanwhile, Momen requested the Saudi foreign minister to allow Biman Bangladesh Airlines to operate flights on the Dammam route.
Currently, Biman is allowed to operate on Riyadh, Medina and Jeddah routes, according to the foreign ministry statement.
