The government is mulling to eliminate divisional system in the name of science, arts and commerce at the higher secondary level like the secondary level.
The major changes in the education system of the country will be introduced from 2022 academic year, education ministry sources said.
Under the new rule, students will study in class XI-XII without any division.
The proposal has been included in the national curriculum framework of National Curriculum and Textbook Board (NCTB), the sources added.
According to the proposed curriculum, secondary students will study all types of subjects up to the tenth grade. This level of curriculum will not have science, business education and humanities departments.
If this is implemented, the subject of choice for admission to higher education will be open to the aspirants.
There will be five steps in education of the country once the new system is incorporated. These are pre-primary, primary, secondary, higher secondary and higher education.
Earlier on November 25, the government removed the division in the name of science, arts and commerce at the secondary level. All students must have compulsory science, commerce and humanities education up to at least SSC.
