Dense fog forced the suspension of ferry services on the key Paturia-Daulatdia and Shimulia-Banglabazar routes on Monday morning

In Manikganj, authorities suspended the service on the Paturia-Daulatdia route to avoid accidents as the ferry's marking lights became dim as the fog thickened.

Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Corporation (BIWTC) Aricha office trade department manager Salam Hossain said the ferry service was suspended from 11:30 pm on Sunday.

Meanwhile, the number of waiting vehicles has increased in both the ferry terminals of the route due to the closure of ferry services.

In Munshiganj, the ferry services on Shimulia-Banglabazar route remained suspended since 12:00 midnight due to poor visibility caused by dense fog.
