‘Mitali Express’ a passenger train between Dhaka (Bangladesh) and New Jalpaiguri (India) route has been inaugurated.

Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and her Indian counterpart Narendra Modi inaugurated the train service virtually after holding a meeting at PMO in Dhaka on Saturday.

According to sources at Dhaka Cantonment Railway Station, the train will ply two days in a week at this moment.

On Monday and Thursday, the train will run on Dhaka Cantonment-Chilahati-New Jalpaiguri route while on New Jalpaigurui-Chilahati-Dhaka Cantonment route on Sunday and Wednesday.

The fare of AC berth is Tk 4,905 for per passenger, AC seat Tk 3, 805 and AC chair Tk 2,705.

The fare for a child up to five-year is 50 per cent.
