Local administration has re-fixed delimitation pillar and signboard on the properties of Rashed Chowdhury, a convicted killer of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
A total of 115 decimals of ancestral properties of Rashed Chowdhury at Sonaimuri at Haziganj in Chandpur have been demarcated.
The government confiscated the properties declaring those as “khas” lands eight years ago.
In 2014, the government took possession of the properties and installed signboard and demarcation pillars.
As signboard and boundary pillars were damaged, those have been re-fixed by the Haziganj upazila administration.
Hailing from Ukilbari at Haziganj in Chandpur, Rashed Chowdhury, son of late maulana Sihabuddin, took part in killing of Bangabandhu and most of his family members on August 15, 1975.
Led by Md Mehedi Hasan Manik, Assistant Commissioner (Land), a team reinstalled the signboard and boundary pillars on the ancestral properties of Rashed Chowdhury who is one of the fugitive death-row convicts.
