The government summoned chiefs of 13 foreign missions in Dhaka for their statements condemning recent attack on Ashraful Alam (known as Hero Alam).

Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) summoned the diplomats on Tuesday.

Alam who contested Dhaka-17 by-polls as an independent candidate came under attack during voting on July 17.

Ruling Awami League candidate Mohammad A Arafat was elected MP winning the by-election.

The 13 missions belong to United States, UK, Canada,  European Union, France, Italy, Germany, Denmark, Netherlands, Norway, Spain, Sweden, and Switzerland.
