The Bangladesh Bank has given instructions to respective banks for disbursing remittances sent by expatriates to the beneficiaries within two working days.
On Thursday, the central bank’s Foreign Exchange Policy Department issued a circular in this regard.
According to the circular, recently it has been noticed that the rules of remittance distribution among beneficiaries are not being followed properly.
Therefore, the banking regulator asked the banks to ensure the remittance disbursement to beneficiaries within the time frame.
Despite taking various steps, the country is not getting the expected remittances through legal channels and banks.
